SALES
When you contact Bomac Engineering for a quote, we’ll take the time to understand your lifting requirements, available workspace, and potential for future growth before designing a system tailored to your needs. Whether you’re looking for a single jib crane to reduce bottlenecks in one area, or a complete gantry crane solution spanning multiple workstations, we’ll work with you to deliver the ideal outcome.
Altrac crane systems are used across a wide range of industries—from clean-room food production and general manufacturing to entertainment, sports, and fall arrest applications.
Bomac Engineering is proud to offer truly Australian-made systems. Our Altrac aluminium rail is extruded in Victoria, and each individual trolley is assembled onsite at our Hallam facility. Every batch of Altrac undergoes NATA-certified chemical and mechanical testing to ensure the highest quality. All Bomac Engineering products fully comply with Australian safety standards, including AS1418 and AS1891.
Contact us by phone or email, or submit a request via our Get a Quote form to get your project underway.
Whether you have detailed drawings or just an initial concept, our team will work with you to fill in the gaps and develop a practical, engineered solution for your lifting or height safety application.
Once drawings are approved and a deposit is received, manufacturing begins at our Hallam facility. Lead times depend on project complexity, with most systems completed within two to six weeks. Upon final payment, your order will be dispatched directly to you. You may arrange your own freight, or we can include delivery in your quote.
ENGINEERING
Altrac can be tailored to suit almost any application. The T-slots on the top face of the extrusion allow for flexible mounting options, accommodating variations in height, length, and angle. Our qualified engineers assess your requirements and develop a solution specifically designed for your operation.
From simple material movement to complex monorail systems with curves and turnouts, Altrac’s modular design allows us to create a crane system that fits your needs precisely.
As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, Bomac operates ongoing in-house research and development programs. Dedicated test rigs at our factory allow us to trial and refine new ideas. Once proven safe, compliant and effective, these innovations are incorporated into our product range.
INSTALLATION
One of the key advantages of Altrac is its ease of installation—no special tools or onsite welding are required. While many customers choose to install the system themselves, professional installation is available if preferred.
For businesses in the Melbourne area, installation can be completed by our in-house team. In other metropolitan regions, we work with qualified local installers. Regardless of the option you choose, Bomac Engineering is available throughout the installation process to provide guidance and support.
SERVICING, MAINTENANCE & INSPECTION
With over 40 years in operation, Bomac Engineering is committed to long-term customer support. We’re available to assist with inspections, servicing, parts, and advice well into the future.
Australian Standard AS2550 requires cranes to be inspected for faults at a minimum of every three months. Bomac Engineering can carry out these inspections for customers who are unable or prefer not to undertake them themselves.
We also offer servicing and maintenance, performed by our own team in the Melbourne area. For customers elsewhere, we can refer you to suitably qualified local technicians.
PARTS
If you require replacement parts or wish to expand your system in the future, Bomac Engineering is here to help. We stock a full range of standard brackets and trolleys, all manufactured onsite at our Hallam facility and available for shipment throughout Australia and overseas.
Thanks to Altrac’s modular design, systems can often be easily expanded—whether increasing coverage or lifting capacity—as your business grows. Contact us to discuss upgrade or expansion options.
